Wayward Girls Studio is located on the shores of Georgian Bay, Ontario Canada. Conceived in the early 2000s as an opportunity for hand makers and artisans to share studio resources for developing skills and processes, that tradition continues today. A short commute to metropolitan materials, close to world class fabricators, and on the threshold of harvestable wild and sustainable natural products; Wayward Girls Studio brings unique style and premium quality to one off and custom artifacts. Wayward Girls Studio is named after the historic building foundation for unwed mothers that then served as the funeral home, the founder performed his funeral directors licensing under. A place originally for outcasts, the studio hopes to let visiting artisans and in house designers explore their skills and develop new uses for materials with focus on traditional craftsmanship. Wearable classic creations and accessories with an emphasis on hand worked leather, sustainable wild fur and ethically sourced textiles, make for luxury that is uncommon in the modern world. The studio boasts industrial sewing, serging and Bonis fur machines for the full spectrum of custom apparel. A full suite of leather working tools allows for ornate hand tooling, commercial grade fastening and gold standard lacemaking for braiding and plaiting. The workshop allows for working hard materials that may get incorporated into creations including wood, metal and raw wild harvested materials for processing. As a place to share skills and ideas with the desire to encourage boundless creativity, Wayward Girls Studio would love to discuss helping you realize your designs whether we make them for you, as an artist's residency or collaboration, or through receiving knowledge through workshops.
